Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon is a city in Westchester County lying on the border of The Bronx and is the eighth most populous city in the state of New York. The city's community is split into two with the Northside having a suburban feel, tree lined streets and side-by-side homes, while Southside Mount Vernon has an urban feel. The father of American railroad John Stevens had a huge role in forming Mount Vernon. He was elected as a vestryman in 1852 of St. Paul's Church in Eastchester and served until 1865.
