South Floral Park
South Floral Park was one of the earliest racially integrated villages on Long Island. It was incorporated in 1925 and its current mayor is Mayor Geoffery Prime. South Floral Park is tiny, incorporating only about .1 square miles with nearly 1600 residents and derives its name from being south of the Village of Floral Park. The Belmont Race Track borders the village as does Route 24. The Belmont Race Track is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, New York and is the home of the 143rd Running of the Belmont Stakes.
South Floral Park is a part of the Elmont Union Free School District, which includes students from Elmont, New Hyde Park and Stewart Manor.
